Mary J. Anthony
Mary J. Anthony bought her first investment property while still a college student, launching a lifelong love of real estate. After a stint in film production in California, Mary gave up the glamour of Hollywood and became an appraiser and chief appraiser in Beverly Hills, later transferring to Washington, DC, where she became a licensed Realtor. She earned a master’s degree in International Transactions (MAIT) from GMU in 1998, including study abroad at Oxford University. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from Colorado College.
Mary served as a director of the Realtor board (NVAR) for two terms and was chairman of the state association convention (VAR) in 2004. In the local community, she served as president of the PTA, past president of the Arlington Kiwanis Club, and is on the board of an Afghani foundation for orphans. She holds several professional designations as an appraiser (CREA) and an international property specialist (CIPS), among others, and is a member of FIABCI, the pre-eminent global network of international Realtors.
Holding licenses in Virginia, DC and Maryland, and an appraisal license in Virginia, Mary is able to serve her clients at a very high level in the entire Washington metro area. With her background in the arts she loves to stage houses for sellers, often selling the ones that failed to sell with the previous Realtor! She is a lifelong Top Producer (NVAR) and a proud, devoted mom of a gorgeous daughter. She is an avid traveler and adventurer who has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, hiked the 26-mile Inca trail to Machu Picchu, dog-sledded in Alaska, lodged in a treehouse in the Amazon jungle, skydived in New Zealand, and trekked in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan.
